Parametric Rounded Storage Box Generator | Fully Customizable OpenSCAD | Easy-to-understand Chinese Comments
Print Profile(1)

Description
A fully parametric storage box generation tool written purely in OpenSCAD. By simply modifying parameters such as internal dimensions, wall thickness, and fillet radius, you can generate storage boxes, parts organizers, drainage trays, and storage containers with one click to suit your needs. It supports optional bottom drainage holes and snap-on lids with adjustable tolerances, suitable for various scenarios such as daily storage, workstation organization, and filament water collection.
✨ Features
- Internal Dimension Definition: Directly input desired internal length, width, and height; external dimensions are automatically calculated, eliminating manual wall thickness conversions for more intuitive object size fitting.
- Automatic Fillet Adaptation: Set external fillets with one click; internal fillets are automatically calculated based on wall thickness, avoiding sharp right angles for smoother demolding.
- Independent wall thickness adjustment: Side wall and bottom thickness can be set separately, balancing structural strength and filament consumption.
- Optional Drainage Holes: Supports a central hole at the bottom, can be used as a drainage box, a 3D printer filament water collector, or a plant drip tray.
- Matching Lid Generation: One-click toggle for lid model, supports custom lid height and fit tolerance.
- High-Freedom Smoothness: Freely adjust the number of segments for fillets to balance rendering speed and print surface quality.
- Zero-Dependency Native Code: Written purely in OpenSCAD basic syntax, no extra libraries needed, ready to use, and can be modified and extended.
🖨️ Printing Suggestions
- Recommended layer height: 0.2mm (general use); 0.15mm (for high-precision appearance)
- Wall thickness matching: For a 0.4mm nozzle, it is recommended to set the wall to an integer multiple of line width, such as 1.2/1.6/2.0mm, to ensure solid side wall infill without gaps.
- Infill rate: 10%~20% is sufficient; the model itself has a solid wall thickness structure, infill only affects bottom rigidity.
- Bottom treatment: PLA filament can be printed directly on a smooth surface; for filaments prone to warping, it is recommended to enable a skirt.
- Filament selection:
- Daily storage: PLA is sufficient, low cost and easy to print.
- Humid / water-holding scenarios: PETG is recommended for better waterproofing and toughness.
- High-strength requirements: Engineering plastics such as ABS, PC can be selected.
- Tolerance adjustment tips:
- Lid too tight → Increase lid_tolerance (e.g., 0.6~0.8mm)
- Lid too loose → Decrease lid_tolerance (e.g., 0.3~0.4mm)
- For the first print, it is recommended to print a small sample of 1cm height to test the fit before printing the complete model.
