Bill of Materials
Description
Meet Polyphemus - the one-eyed Cyclops who trapped Odysseus and his men in his cave, only to be blinded by a sharpened stake and a clever lie ("Nobody did this to me!").
This bust captures him mid-roar: furrowed brow, wild beard, and that single unmistakable eye.
A clean, support-light print that makes a striking desk or bookshelf piece for fans of Greek mythology, the Odyssey, or classical sculpture. The engraved POLYPHEMUS plinth gives it a real museum-bust feel.
Features
- Single-piece print - no assembly, no glue
- Printable with supports in the recommended orientation
- Weighted-base friendly: the solid plinth keeps it stable and can be ballasted if you want extra heft
- Looks great in stone-white, marble, or bronze filament; also a fantastic candidate for painting or a marble-effect finish
Recommended print settings
- Layer height: 0.12mm (Fine) for crisp facial and beard detail - 0.20mm still looks good
- Walls: 3 · Infill: 10–15% (bump the base region to 100% for stability)
- Supports: none needed as oriented; add tree supports only if you reorient
- Material: PLA
Tips
Print in a light, matte filament to read the detail in photos. A quick coat of grey primer + a brown wash makes the beard and eye pop dramatically.
If you enjoy it, a like/boost is hugely appreciated - and I'd love to see your prints and paint jobs in the comments!
