Description
A highly functional and rugged enclosure specifically optimized for the Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V2 module. This design combines a reliable snap-in system with excellent thermal management for continuous operation (e.g., as a Meshtastic router/node, LoRa gateway, or smart home automation satellite).
🛠️ Features & Design Details
Integrated Snap-In System (Zero Wobble): The development board easily clicks directly into the bottom part. Thanks to precise internal tolerances, the Heltec module sits completely flush and won't wobble a millimeter – all without requiring any screws or glue!
Hex-Mesh Ventilation: The generous honeycomb structure on the back and bottom ensures optimal passive airflow under high CPU loads.
Precise I/O Cutouts: Form-fitting, easy-access openings for the USB port and a dedicated path for the antenna connector (SMA pigtail).
- Covered Battery Connector: The internal battery connector is completely covered by default in this design to maximize protection. If there is high demand from the community for direct battery access, let me know in the comments and I can open it up in a future revision!
Snap-Fit Closure: The case halves snap tightly and securely together, yet can be opened at any time without tools for troubleshooting or flashing.
🔌 Chip Compatibility & Project Context
Successfully Tested: The enclosure was designed and fully verified using the SX1276 LoRa chip version of the Heltec V2 board.

- SX1262 Version: Since the PCB dimensions and display placement on the newer SX1262 V2 variant should be identical, this case will highly likely fit as well. However, this is provided without warranty, as I did not have the hardware to test the SX1262 version myself. Feedback in the comments is highly welcome!
- Display & Velux Smarthome Hack: The OLED display on this setup is positioned so it is only visible through the front mesh structure. However, for my own unit, I ended up leaving the display completely unused/covered. I built this specific project to hack my Velux remote controls using the iown-home project (GitHub Repository). If you are running a similar headless home-automation setup, this case is an absolute perfect fit!
