Description

!~Disclaimer~!

The base is designed to specifically fit a disassembled Mainstays “Power Grip” Suction Cup, which is a Walmart brand and (AFIK) only comes with certain bathroom accessories and hooks.

~Links are at the bottom~

I made it to mount my Pixel 7 magnetically in my car and have been using it for about a week now. It's very strong and stable, so I thought others might like it too.

The magnetic mount can hold up to 60 magnets for an extremely strong and secure hold. I only used 30 and have not had any issues, but the pockets are deep enough to hold 2 stacked in each of the 30 slots. Any 6x3x1.5mm magnets should work. I used Neodymium N52 ones found on amazon (link at the bottom).

You can securely lock the angles in 5 degree increments.

The arms (as shown) are 135mm long.

The screws and nuts should be printed with PETG or stronger filament.

The magnet holder should be printed with TPU.

Use your judgement for the rest, PLA is plenty strong enough but may suffer from high heats if used in your car.

Printing Notes/Instructions

I printed everything (except for the fasteners) on a SMOOTH plate. This is important for the double sided arm as it's first layer has very minimal contact on the rings as you can see here. Watch your first layers closely to make sure these print correctly.

If you have troubles with it, there is an alternate version in the raw files which will print upright. It just won't look as nice with all the bridges.

The part labeled MagSafeAdapter does not need supports on the underside, do not worry that there are none. It is intentional and designed to print without supports there. This piece and the magnet holder are press-fit together and may take some force.

If the threaded cap does not fit the suction cup, resize it by 1-2% as needed. It fit one but not another in my testing, so it's a bit of luck.

I remodeled the fastener system used by rostap in his model here:

I don't know if he's the original designer of the nuts/screws or not, but they work amazingly well!

The magnets I used:

If unavailable, just search for 6x3x1.5mm Neodymium N52 magnets.

The Suction Cup:

I'm not sure if these can be purchased on their own and haven't found a better one of the same size or smaller yet. If you have any suggestions or requests for different suction cups feel free to leave a comment. If the links don't work, search walmart.com for “Power Grip Suction Cup” and look for the grey ones that look like this:

Note: You will need to take the grey housing off (unscrew it), you just need the suction cup with the threaded rod.
