Description

I'm a big fan of the Fallout game series. The latest release of Amazon's Fallout series energized the nerd inside of me to create this bit of my very own Vault-tec Pip-Boy techiness to dress-up my Apple Series 7 Watch (45mm).

I included pics of the process to install the buttons and insert the button-side of the watch into the Pip-Boy before snapping the rest of the face onto the watch. The included print profiles include snug supports for a few overhanging areas and those are quick and easy to remove without needing tools. Please note that one profile is for a standard 0.4mm nozzle while the other is for a 0.2mm nozzle. The 0.2mm nozzle print profile includes updated tolerances for the supports since they need to be smaller to accommodate the .22mm layer width and 0.1mm layer height.

Enjoy and let me know what you think.

I used the Facer app for the Pip-Boy screen: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/watch-faces-by-facer/id1057071179

You can try uniformly scaling the entire model (with buttons and knobs selected) to the following percentages based on your watch size:

  1. 44mm: scale to 97.77%
  2. 42mm: scale to 93.33%
  3. 41mm: scale to 91.11%
  4. 40mm: scale to 88.88%
  5. 38mm: scale to 84.44%

EDIT: 5/1/2024

I uploaded a 44mm version that should fit the Apple Watch SE quite nicely and added two new print profiles to support it. One profile is for a 0.4mm nozzle and the other is for a 0.2mm nozzle, specifically on an A1 mini, but should work on other Bambu Lab printers.

EDIT: 5/6/2024

I created a version 2 that includes knobs, by popular request.  The knobs have a small amount of threading to keep them firmly attached.

EDIT: 5/20/2024

I added a new print profile with the version 2 model scaled according to the chart from above.  The print profile is the “38mm to 45mm v2” and there's a profile for a 0.4mm nozzle (default nozzle size on Bambu printers) and the 0.2mm nozzle for those of us playing with finer detail.

Printed without issue and looks great even with the 0.4mm nozzle. Printed in two prints for contrast color on buttons. Assembled easily and fit my AW7 great. Thanks for uploading.

Looks great, nice color scheme. Did you have issues muscling that top knob into place? I noticed that on the 0.2mm nozzle profile that the fit is a bit tight. I was wondering if that was just my print or if it's an issue. If it's an issue then I can tweak the design of the treads a bit. And what app is on your watch face, looks cool!

thank you :) I actually had no issues at all used a .2 nozzle and sent to print haha, assembly was easy ! the watch face is just an image I got off google because I’ve tried the apps in the past and they either drain the battery or don’t last long lol so I’m happy with this :)

Amazing model and design. I printed in a 99% scale in order to be tighter to the watch so it doesn’t fall down and it works perfectly. Also use Carbon filament. Congratulations!

Came out looking great, love that carbon fiber. Did you print the 45mm or 44mm model? I’m just wondering if the filament made the model a bit lose or if the 44mm model is a bit too big.

I'm working on the Ultra design, hoping to get it done in the next couple of days. Printing the model to hopefully ensure a good fit on an actual Ultra.

I'm still a day or two out from having it completed. I'm modeling the left hand size to include a third button and I'm making sure everything lines up correctly.

This model is AWESOME! I have a 44mm AW3 and I shrunk the 45mm version to 98% and the cover fit well. At .08 printing I expected not perfect lettering.
