Plant Pot or Hanging Planter

Ribbed plant pot with scalloped rim and detachable drip tray. Can be placed on a surface or hung! The hanging points are hidden allowing it to look natural in either orientation.

This design was inspired by the classic Mother’s Day gift of a hanging planter overflowing with flowers. With this design you can give a gift that feels more personal, thoughtful, or curated. Decide whether your Mom would prefer a hanging plant or one a sitting one!

Try scaling for variation in size! (I haven’t tried this yet - so experiment at your own risk!)

Design Features:

• Hidden hanging attachment points - tie string to the three hanging points hidden inside the rim of the planter or use as is on a surface
• Interlocking drip tray - a simple twisting motion secures the drip tray to the pot to allow the planter to be hung & the tray to still be emptied
• Easily customizable color combinations - if desired, print pots & drip trays out of different filaments
• No support required - the areas with overhangs were designed to not require any support while printing on the X1 Carbon (~160g total)
• Fits a small nursery pot - a standard circular nursery pot that is ~3.5" tall with a 4" diameter neatly fits inside if you don't want to pot a plant directly into the planter (planter & tray are ~5" tall & wide)

My X1 Carbon PLA Print Settings:

• 0.4mm nozzle at standard 0.2mm layer height
• 2 wall loops with 100% rectilinear infill
• no support, no brim
