Update!

V2 PADD

Prop Details

PADDs (Personal Access Display Devices) are hand-held tablets used by the Federation in a number of Star Trek series. In Deep Space Nine, PADDS had slightly different design details but usually shared similar screen/panel position. I modeled a few of my favorites and have included redrawn LCARS UI graphics for printing. Screen used PADD dimensions seem to vary in size between 5.5x8.5 inches and 6x9 inches. (Based on what I could find from auction sites) 6x9 inches felt a little too large so I reduced it in size to 5.63x8.63 inches (142.9x219.1mm). I thought the black stickers used in the original props for seams and speakers would be more physical so I've added them to the models.

The PADD pictured above is PADD B. The LCARS interface is printed on transparency and mounted on white paper to give it the backlit look. This was my first time building this and the cuts I made for the screen transparencies are not great. Make sure you are careful and/or have a corner rounder (6mm for the larger corners, 3mm for the smaller corners)

I've started to document the variations as I see them and will be adding more LCARS graphics in the future. The models (or close versions) can be seen in the following episodes:
