Description

A small drawer perfect for under a desk.

  • No supports needed
  • Dimensions can be tweaked through user parameters in Fusion 360
  • Maximize the space on the Bambu Lab P1 plate (256x256mm)
  • Discrete handle (below the drawer)
  • Square inside (except for a little slope where the handle is) so it is easier to design organizers

Parameters

  • drawer_external_width: self-explanatory, does not include the supports to slide which are 28mm together. The -15mm is to account for the plate exclusion area.
  • drawer_external_length: self-explanatory, the slides are 10 mm longer because of the stopping part, they print diagonally on the plate just fine.
  • drawer_external_height: self-explanatory.
  • drawer_wall_thickness: the thickness of the drawer walls, does not impact the thickness of the slides. To get internal dimensions you can subtract the wall thickness from the external dimensions. Heavily impacts filament consumption and printing time.
  • slide_stop_length: add 10 mm and it gets you the length of the drawer that stays under the desk. If you change this parameter afterward, you only need to re-print the slides.
  • slide_spacing: margin around the drawer supports and the slides and desk. Completely unnecessary, you can achieve the same result by adjusting the distance between the slides during installation.

Installation advice

  • First, fix one slide completely, then use the drawer to determine the second slide's position.
  • By varying the distance between slides you will impact how much wiggle room the drawer has. Too much and it won't stay leveled when opened, too little and it will be harder to open.
  • One end of one slide needs to be loose to fit the drawer. If both slides are completely fixed you won't be able to insert the drawer.
