Description

Strainer for the common 85mm “Insinkerator” food waste disposal drain opening (object has 84mm diameter for a nice fit). Designed specifically to prevent small utensils (like measuring spoons) from falling unseen into the garbage disposal, while still allowing relatively large food particles to pass through with the aid of the faucet sprayer.

Can be easily scaled (x+y only) to fit other large sink openings as well.

The largest center opening is 24mm, and after several years of use it has been 100% successful at preventing accidental utensil disposal without the need to stick my hand in the backed-up drain to check before turning on the disposal. The occasional utensil still falls into the middle, but remains upright and easy to spot/retrieve.

This is also pretty easy to take out of the sink if needed, but it's so effective that I've never had to!

Print in PETG or another heat-resistant material. PLA will probably deform pretty quickly under hot tap water. In contrast, my PETG print can easily handle boiling pasta water fresh off the stove.
