Description

Hey y'all! I decided to design a dream catcher. This is my first real attempt at designing something with articulated print in place links like this. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I'm already thinking about how to make the next one.

This print is pretty straight forward with no assembly required. Just like any print in place model you've printed before. The links are fairly small so be gentle when removing from the plate. Letting it completely cool should eliminate the risk of a break. If you use the profile I'm posting with this, you'll be fine. Once its off the plate you can rotate the rings so that they full extend down. If you use a gradient filament like in the pictures you can have all the rings have their colors in the same direction.

Update: I designed a second dream catcher that can be scaled down enough to print on the A-1 Mini. You can find it here:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/525364

I made a third one. You can find it here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/530117446942

Update 2: Even though an other user has uploaded a profile for the A1-Mini, my personal experience while testing prints at this scale was disappointing. A link would break pretty immediately every time. If you use this profile, be aware that this is something I've had issues with. This person may have solved the issue. Let me know if you end up trying it.

ADVISORY: If you print with silk PLA there is a higher risk of the links breaking, especially during plate removal. Use of liquid adhesive prior to printing and allowing the plate to fully cool will help minimize this risk. Using freshly dried silk filament will also help.

For those not using a Bambu printer, I recommend the following settings:

0.4mm Nozzle

0.12mm Layers(0.2mm first layer)

3 Walls

6/5 Solid Top/Bottom Layers

15% Gyroid Infill (Infill Combination Enabled)

The rest is up to you.

Thank you for stopping by! Please like and follow for more trippy models like this. Check out my profiles to see all sorts of stuff ranging from lamps to high powered catapults. I'm an adult with ADHD so I'm constantly making different things. Follow so you don't miss out. Who knows what I'll make next. Make sure to tell your friends so they don't miss out.
