VW T5 MPPT dashboard mount

My friend wanted to fit his VW T5 Caravelle with a solar panel and put an MPPT charger in the trunk, so I designed this adapter for mounting the head unit to the dashboard. It requires 2 empty accessory slots + a hole / another slot to route the cable. The mount accepts four M4 nuts and bolts.

Printing instructions

The provided prusa slicer project (.3mf) already has all the right settings. Generally, a default preset for a 0.2mm layer height works well. You need to use supports for the large semi-circular overhang and the 4 tiny pins on the dashboard adapters. None of those surfaces are visible after assembly, though.

Print this from a filament that can withstand some heat (definitely not PLA). I printed mine from PETG and it's fine, but consider something like Nylon, especially if you live in a hot climate.

I made the mount for the MPPT head unit myself and just slapped the T5 dashboard socket adapter onto it.
