Description

This is a beautiful model of an actual dsDNA taken from the virus Phi29 and reconstructed through high resolution CryoEM. The structure is represented by relatively fine surface representation with enough detail to identify various key structures. It highlights the minor and major groove, the double helix backbone, and the base pairs! The beauty is that DNA is not perfect in nature, with slight bends and distortion, and this model captures this. This DNA would be found inside the packaging motor of bacteriophage Phi29 as it is being packaged into the capsid.

It is placed on a stand with a label and I added some supports within the model to maintain the two strands being connected. Due to the intricacy it captures and the fine aspects of the model, it requires to be printed with supports that may require pliers to remove. BE GENTLE.
