Description

Jim’s Marvelous Marble Machine is a completely original creation designed in Tinkercad and printed on the Bambu A1 Mini using Bambu Basic PLA filament. It can be powered by a TT Motor (LA001) with a USB Speed Controller (IA002), both available through the Bambu Labs store. (To use the Bambu Labs TT Motor, please download the TT Motor Adapter Kit here.)

The marble track is made of raw filament. It has a chain lifting mechanism. The design is modular, so those who want to expand or modify the design can have fun doing so. Be on the lookout for expansion kits and design modifications. See the video here: YouTube

Version 1 was originally designed to work with an N20 motor running at 10-20 RPM. Version 2 will now accept either the N20 motor or the TT Motor sold by Bambu Labs. The TT motor will require the USB speed controller, also sold by Bambu Labs. The TT motor will be the preferred choice for many because it is readily available through Bambu Labs, it is affordable, and it runs on easy to find USB power.

This model was designed to use marbles between 14mm and 15.5mm in diameter.

For best results, ensure that you are using a dry, high-quality filament and that you have taken appropriate steps to maintain good adhesion to the build plate. Failure to do so could result in a failed print.  Build plate adhesion can be improved by washing the plate with soap and water, or washing the plate with alcohol, or by using a glue stick or a liquid glue on the build plate.
