Description

In 2018, I had to get a scan of my brain for medical reasons, and I asked for a copy of the images (because I thought it was cool to see my brain!).

For over a year, I had been wanting to model my brain and print it at full scale! So I have to thank MakerWorld for holding the biological model contest, as it gave me the push I needed to start the project!

How I created the model?

I used the 3D Slicer software to assemble and create the 3D model from the DICOM files. I then used Meshmixer to optimize the file for 3D printing. I finished with Meshlab to reduce the file size.

About the print itself :

The model is clean and is very easy to print! You need suports but you will see, they are very easy to remove! It took me maximum 5 minutes.

What filament did I use ?

eSun PLA+ Beige

* If you’re as intense as I am, do this: If you want a full scale brain with the real weight, you just need to set the infill to 90%, which will give you the 1.3 kg of an adult brain.

I hope you will enjoy this model ! I do not ask for boost but a like and a photo of your print can be awesome!!

Thank you!
