Description

DIY Rotary Switch for the Elegoo Phecda Laser. It's been a while since I made these but I have been getting request so I figured I would share the BOM, 3d files and PCB Gerber files. This is a very simple design but worked great for me. This rotary switch will very likely work for more lasers that use xh connectors for the rotary. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

I am not responsible for any damage caused by my instructions or design. As I said this worked great for me but use at your own risk.

I have had no time to make an assembly guide with images but it is a straightforward and easy install.

  1. Solder the XH Male connectors to one side of the pcb board. See image for reference the slots should be on the inside of the board and the connectors should be on the same side as labels toBoard Y1-IN and so on.
  2. Solder the switch on the opposite side of the connectors.
  3. Print 3d housing and insert the brass Heat set Nuts.
  4. Attach the housing to the machine near the main board, using the same screws on the bottom of the main frame.
  5. Attach the Pcb to the 3d printed housing.
  6. Using the 4pin 100mm XH wire connect the Phecda
  7. Connections should be straightforward
    1. TOBOARD to Phecda board
    2. Y1-IN from Phecda
    3. Rotary to Rotary (use extension cable so you can move rotary out of machine when not in use)
    4. Other is not used and can be used to add another rotary.

Reach out if you have any questions

(The Gerber files can be found by pressing the expand or down symbol next to the green download button and downloading STL/CAD files)
