Description
I explored many of the other designs out there and generally wasn't satisfied with what I found for my application. I wanted something that brought the filament purge waste closer to the front of the printer, while minimizing the side footprint requirement.
The main issues I encountered with others were:
- The print required supports
- Too wide of a footprint
- Did not encourage filament to flow far enough forward
- Interior geometry followed the contour of the exterior, leading to buildups
- The front edge is too tall making it difficult to remove poops
I resolved these concerns with this design. This purge chute bin features:
- Flowing interior geometry like a river rafting adventure ride to encourage the filament waste (poops) to slide as far forward as possible
- Front edge is lowered for easier access
- Side footprint is minimized
- Magnetic mounts
- Prints with zero supports

Installation:
The magnets are interference press fit. I like to use non-marring soft jaw pliers to press the magnets in, you can also use standard groovelock V-jaw pliers with a thick cloth or plastic blocks in between. Due to printing variances, you may want to use glue to hold the magnets in place.
