Description

Hello there!

This is my polymer clay ball rolling help. It is designed to help you to create perfectly shaped balls out of clay. How does it work? Simply put a bit of clay in one of the notches, but the top of the ball rolling helper on top and move the top part from one side to another and repeat a few times. Due to this movement the clay will be forced into a round ball shape.

The model can create balls with the following diameter:

  • 6 mm
  • 8 mm
  • 10 mm
  • 15 mm
  • 20 mm
  • 25 mm
  • 30 mm

As you can see in the pictures, the blob of clay came out as an almost perfect ball.

Assembly information

No assembly required. However I'd recommend to either use some sanding paper or to use something to seal the surface. This is not necessary but if you don't do so, the top and bottom will create a bit of noise while creating a ball as the single layers of the model rub against each other.

Also (depending on the clay you use) there is a high chance that some of the clay will stick in between the layers of the print. Sealing could avoid this but it also did work just fine in my test without any sanding/sealing.

Model size

The two parts (top and bottom) have each a size of 15,4 x 10 x 2 cm.

Filament recommendation

Any PLA should work just fine. I printed the set in the pictures with regular Bambu PLA basic and tried to roll very hard clay with it and it worked just fine.

Print settings

Basically there are no fragile or small parts. I printed the two halves with 0.20mm Standard quality and 15% infill. This seemed to be stable enough.

Have fun with this model and also have a look at my other models!
