Arduino Uno L298N Chassis
Print Profile(1)

Description
Over the years I have bought more than one of the chassis available for mainly Arduino based obstacle avoidance or line tracking robots, the chassis I have bought have either been made from Acrylic which breaks very easily or aluminium which are not very well made and have very sharp edges so my idea was to design my own, in this case specifically for the Arduino Uno and the L298n motor driver board, these 2 components seemed to be the most popular combination out there I used brass stand offs to raise both the Arduino Uno and the L298n Driver board, also another thing which bugged me was that a lot of these robots you see are just a mass of cables, there is no provision for cable management on the ones you buy.
This chassis accommodates the ever popular TT style motor(The Yellow Ones) and is such designed that the solder terminals on the motors point inwards, making the motor cables look less conspicuous, there is also provision under the chassis for cable management, there are bridges where cables can be pushed through or tied to and openings for cables to be passed underneath rather than on top, additionally, small cable ties can be used to further tidy up the wiring.
The chassis can be used for a number of Robotic projects including Obstacle Avoidance, Line Tracking and many more and there is provision for the popular Pan/Tilt Gimbal for projects with a camera such as Sensors or head tracking etc.
I used a 9v rechargeable Battery for this project, the battery holder/case which is installed underneath the chassis has a switch eliminating the use for a dedicated on/off switch
The chassis I made for this demonstration was for a Line Tracking combined with Obstacle Avoidance Robot and the chassis performed very well.
I printed the chassis with ABS Filament at the standard 15% infill and its robust enough, no support needed.
A great project with many robotic uses.
Thanks for Looking.
