Case Friendly iPhone 12 to17 pro & Max Dock

This is a standby mode dock compatible with the iPhone 12 to 17 Pro & Max.

The size has been modified to conveniently hold the iPhone with a case.

The current dimensions have been changed to 165*82.6mm, and you can also download the f3d file to modify the dimensions in Fusion 360.

UPDATE (2025-09-13)：

1. Apple has released the brand-new iPhone 17 series, and its dimensions are very close to the iPhone 16. I have tested it using a friend’s iPhone and reserved some clearance, but it is also recommended to use a test unit for verification.
2. I didn’t include the dimensions of the iPhone 17 Air, as I think it might not require a case.

UPDATE (2025-07-12)：

1. Based on creating cases for over 20 friends, a more universal dimension for the iPhone 16 Pro with a case is 157×79 mm, with chamfering added around the larger camera module.
2. After making it for over 20 friends, here is a more general size for the iPhone 16 Pro Max with a case: 170×85 mm.
3. For the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, you can use the same universal size as the iPhone 12 to 15 models.

UPDATE (2024-11-17)：

1. For smaller iPhone Pro models, the distance between the camera frame and MagSafe is very tight when using a case, which can cause fitting issues. I added a 4mm chamfer to allow part of the phone case to fit in.

UPDATE (2024-10-29)：

1. Reduced the size of the MagSafe : from 56.6mm to 55.6mm. This adjustment was made after receiving feedback from many users who found the original size too large. Multiple tests confirmed that 55.6mm is more suitable, though tolerances may vary depending on the material. During charging, the MagSafe may be removed along with the iPhone due to heat. Double-sided tape is still recommended for reinforcement.

    

2. Increased the depth for iPhone placement by 3mm, ensuring that the phone with a case does not protrude noticeably when placed in the dock.

    

3. Adjusted the print configuration by adding a modifier to reduce infill in certain areas to 3%. Testing showed no impact on functionality or appearance, saving 15% in material and time.

UPDATE：

I have confirmed that the size differences between the iPhone 12 to 16 models are minimal (as per the table below). Therefore, I updated the dock to accommodate the better iPhone models and adjusted the size to better support most iPhones with cases.
