Bambu Lab A1 Mini Vertical Spool Holder With Rotating Core! (Version 1.0)

This custom spool holder is designed to enhance the Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D printer by optimizing spool placement for some people and filament feeding. The upgrade utilizes the original spool arm from the Bambu Lab A1 Mini spool holder, while integrating custom 3D-printed bearings into design for improved functionality.

 

The design includes:

  • Inner and Outer spool cores for supporting and centering the spool in place, allowing it to rotate freely with minimal friction.
  • A vertical holder arm that securely mounts the BBL A1 Mini Z axis (replacing original cap). Aligning the spool’s center of mass directly above the Z-axis for improved balance and reducing chance of z wobble or banding issue's.
  • Cylindrical bearings, which you can print, ensuring the spool spins smoothly with low resistance, reducing filament drag and improving feed consistency while eliminating spool jumps.
  • Extension Ring can be scaled up in z axis to match slimmer spools!
