Description

Eryone spools are a different size (150mm diameter), so I modified the original design in a couple of ways. This should work for any filament spool that is 148-152mm in diameter and up to 4.5mm thick rim.

  1. Resized for 150mm spools and the thickness of the spool sides (4.5mm).
  2. Added 5m width spacer to each side ring to better fit in AMS (Amolen spools are very narrow).
  3. Modified retainer clips to make it easier to install. Clips are specific to each slot in the ring.

Print 2 rings and 6 clips.

Print instructions

The attached 3MF file was created in BambuStudio.

Print the spool adapter x2, clips x6.

Assembly

Images also show the assembly process. Place the spool between the helper nubs in the adapter. Then from the inside of the spool, from the rim side, insert at three places the clips so it grabs the rim of the 250g spool and the inner part of the printed adapter. The clips are unique to each slot, they should snap in place.

Repeat this for the other side of the spool.

Make sure any irregularities from printing are removed from the outer rim of the spool extender.

Usage

Place the extended spool in the AMS spool slot, in the center. Roll the spool back and forth to make sure the rolling goes smoothly. Then feed filament in the AMS and use as normal.

UPDATE 12-16-2022: Added support for Stronghold and AMOLEN 250g spools.
