Description

Mounting for two rods to the Ikea billy wardrobe, ideal for storing filament spools.

Designed for maximum capacity - this mount does not interfere with the spools either in width (they can be from the wall to the wall of the cabinet) or in height (the spools below do not interfere with the upper level) 

There are two versions:
- "center" which locates the spools symmetrically in the middle of the cabinet, the same amount back and forth. Thanks to this, you can store spools larger than the classic 20cm (just mount the rod holder one hole lower, and we have space for large spools, up to 25.5cm in diameter).

- "upper" - intended mainly for the top shelf, when you have a wardrobe with doors, the spools placed evenly in the middle would interfere with the wardrobe hinges. For typical spools with a diameter of 20cm there is no problem and they can be moved back a little.
But nothing stands in the way (if you use typical 20cm spools) to use the "upper" version in the entire wardrobe, then all spools are slightly moved back, and there is room, for example, to hang some tools on the inside of the door.

The rods can be typical "for clothes hangers" - then they are about 2.5 cm in diameter. Or you can use tubing - be it steel, broomsticks, or 76cm cut 1/2" (or 25.4mm) PVC-U 1/2" DN20 (or DN16 - thinner walled) sewer tubing - but these white tubing they are a bit too soft, I had to stiffen mine by putting some old pieces of tubing inside, from the trash...


Screws: countersunk screws like 3.5x15mm will be ok, they do not damage your Billy walls 

Printed in cheapest PLA white, with settings :
4 wall loops
4 top and bottom layers
20% infil (grid) 
and is strong enough.


NOTE: After a few years of full-load use, I noticed that all my handles had cracked, all in the same area! Yes, they were made of garbage PLA, which became brittle after a few years. Thanks to the 4-screw mounting, even a cracked handle stays in place, the tubes don't fall out, and there's no risk of disaster. But be careful.
 

But this indicates there's was a stress problem – so I released an improved, thicker, and more robust version.
