A1 Mini-version uploaded! You can now download a 3D-model and a print profile (PLA only) with modified size that fits A1 Mini.
For full size version, two print profiles included; PLA or PETG. PLA withstands 60°C temperatures and PETG 80°C temperatures, choose whichever suits you the best. In our case the max temp of the shower is little less than 50°C, PLA works great.
This model is part of my shower design family:
- Square shaped shower head
- Heart shaped shower head
- Rainfall shower head with Toyota-logo
- Minimalistic, modern shampoo holder - No tools required!
If you are looking for a nice-looking shower head to enhance your shower's looks and functionality, you have arrived to the right place!
This is an easy print with supports only below the thread, which are easy to remove. A perfect way to convince people about 3D-printing and its benefits!
40pcs of 1,6mm nozzle holes ensure nice, rainfall-kind of effect and 10 of the holes aimed towards the centre making sure that every spot of the hair gets even distribution of water. Standard G ½" thread for the hose connector.
Slim, minimalistic and modern design, looks best while printed with matte black!
FAQ:
Q: Is it hygienic?
A: FDM-printed parts are likely to contain porosities and are commonly considered as not solid parts. This design has thick walls aiming to minimize porosity of the structure. However, one should note that it is always possible that bacteria or debris can build up in the structure and regular cleaning is advised. If printed with PETG, you can for example soke the shower head to vinegar overnight to dissolve limestone buildup and disinfect the shower head.

Q: Will it melt because of the hot water?
A: PLA withstands temperatures up to 60°C without any deformation. PTEG 80°C, ABS/ASA 100-110°C. A normal, comfortable showering temperature is between 37-39°C, temperatures higher than 40°C are considered hot and nobody uses the shower normally with temperatures higher than 50°C. With that said, PLA will hold well, PTEG even better. ABS/ASA is a bit overkill, but can be used.
Q: There are leftovers from the supports on the thread. Do I need to clean it?
A: No. The design takes that into account by introducing flat areas on the bottom and on the top of the thread making sure that any small leftover from the supports or the seams will not affect the functionality of the thread.
Q: What is the thread size?
A: Standard thread in most household shower hoses is G1/2". In some rare cases the threads can be different. You can measure your current shower head thread's outer diameter. If it is close to 20.955mm, this will most likely fit.
