Designed for the Bambu Lab A1, this Y-axis motor heatsink is a solution I developed for my own A1, which already has a heatsink for the extruder, X-axis motor, and mainboard. These models were all found on Maker World and are very useful, but a heatsink for the Y-axis motor was missing. So, I started designing this model back in July 2024. After numerous iterations, it has finally reached its current form.

Materials: Three steel shafts, 3mm in diameter and 25cm long, one 4010 cooling fan, four screws, or a bottle of glue.

Due to the Y-axis decorative plate being directly below the heated bed, prolonged printing can cause the decorative plate to warp. Therefore, three 25cm long, 3mm diameter steel shafts are required. They can be custom ordered from online retailers like Taobao or Pinduoduo, or you can cut them yourself. A 4010 fan and four fixing screws (or glue) are also needed.

Assembly: After removing the supports, insert the three steel shafts into the holes between the two plates, aligning them together. Place the fan into the fan mount at the end, secure it with screws or glue. Then, align the cutout on the fan decorative plate with the fan wires (it can be secured in place or glued).
