Description

Following the popularity of my other soldering aid, I recognised that there was a need to develop a version that would be better suited to holding thinner gauge cable for soldering purposes. Therefore I developed this new design, incorporating integrated spring clamps to gently hold the cables in the required position. It's a one piece design - no supports are required.

This design will work for cables up to around 2mm outside diameter. I highly recommend using PETG for this print - not only for its improved heat resistance, but also to improve the spring response of the clamps.

I welcome all comments - this was test printed on a P1s, using the standard 0.2mm layer profile. It's a tool, so not necessary to use better quality settings unless appearance is important.

Following a couple of comments regarding the strength of the clamps - this model is for small diameter cables only, up to approx 1mm diameter. For additional strength, consider increasing the number of walls and the infill density. It could also be printed on it's end, but this would need supports.
