Description

Hey there!

Today I have for you my new Modular Travel Storage System (MTSS for short).

The MTSS started as an idea of mine to make carrying, storing, sorting and managing regular SD-Cards for cameras better. But soon I realized how much basic & small tech stuff I carry around all the time (like Batteries and USB Sticks). So, I gave all of them a new universal home!

The MTSS ist made out of 2 types of things: Cases and Modules.

Cases are the base of the MTSS. They give you Slots which you can customize with your modules to store diffent things your way! Currently there are 5 Cases:

  • Travel Case Single Slot
  • Travel Case 1 & 1/2 Slots
  • Travel Case Double Slot
  • Travel Case Triple Slot
  • Home Depot 4x4

Travel Cases give you the possibility to take your modules with you at any time while Hope Depots are meant to be the mass storage of your modules so you can swap them whenever you like.

Modules are the actual “Storage” of the MTSS. Currently, there are 8 Modules:

  • SD-Card-Module (Tall)
  • micro-SD-Card-Module (Short)
  • USB-Module (Tall)
  • USB-Module (Short)
  • AA-Battery-Module (fits up to 5 Batteries, Tall)
  • AAA-Battery-Module (fits up to 9 Batteries,Tall)
  • Generic-Module (no Label, Tall)
  • Generic-Module (no Label, Short)

Some Modules have special Designs to better fit the things that should be stored in them, like the SD-Card Modules.
Also, Modules come in two hights: Tall (aka full slot size) and short (aka half slot size). You can put into one slot 1 Tall Module or two short Modules.

The MTSS might seem a bit complex, but by just trying it out! Especially if you have way to much SD or micro SD Cards at home…

FAQ

Q: My Module is stuck in a Case! How can I get it out?

A: Every Module has a little “dip” or “nose” at the top and bottom on the front. You can pry it out with the Case Lid or any other hard object that fits inside.

Q: I want to make my own Module! What are the Measurements?

A: The Basic Measurements are 35mm(W)x76mm(D)x41mm(H) with the front wall having a Depth of 5mm.

The examples on the pictures were printed on my P1P with Various PLA Filaments & the Diamond Effect Sheet Plate.

Glue and Brim highly recomended for more accuracy.
