Description
3D-Printed Tormek Chisel and Planer Jig
This 3D-printed jig is designed to accommodate a wide range of chisel and planer blade sizes, from widths up to 60mm and heights down to 10mm, making it a versatile alternative to the official Tormek jig, which can be quite expensive.
The design inspiration comes from @brouk12—huge thanks for the idea! Additionally, the model incorporates 3D-printed M5 star knobs from Dean’s Star Knob collection, with a pause at layer 55 to allow for easy insertion of nuts.
Assembly Instructions:
- 4x M3 heat inserts (or glue if preferred) (can also use m3 nuts on other side instead!
- 4x M3 machine screws (not required if glued)
- 4x M5 nuts
- 2x short pieces of threaded rod
- Optional: Springs sized to fit around the threaded rods (this will enable the press-down part to return to its original position automatically).
With these simple components, you can build an affordable, effective jig for your Tormek grinder!
