This custom spool holder is designed for spools up to 90mm wide, offering an efficient solution for handling larger filament spools on your 3D printer, particularly when using systems like the BambuLab AMS. The design allows the filament spool to be positioned in a way that avoids collision with the connector leading to the AMS, ensuring smooth operation.

Key Features:

Compatibility: Supports filament spools with a width of up to 90mm, making it ideal for spools that would otherwise be too wide for standard setups.

Slightly Extended Length: At 91mm long, this holder is just 5mm longer than the standard version, but it’s enough to handle wider spools. If you need an even longer version, feel free to leave a comment.

Filament Path: The spool holder ensures the filament path bypasses the AMS connector, preventing any interference or collision with it.

Compatible with Poop Chute Door Mod: This holder works perfectly in combination with my Poop Chute Door for P1S/X1C mod, which improves insulation for the filament purge chute.

Inspiration:

The idea of using a PTFE tube to guide the filament is inspired by the Voron V0.1 design, but this spool holder was designed from scratch and only uses the concept as inspiration.

Recommended Materials:

For optimal performance and durability, it is recommended to print this spool holder using PETG or ABS. These materials provide the necessary strength and flexibility to handle the mechanical stress from the filament spools.

PLA is not recommended, as it is prone to creep under high tension, especially around the mounting screws, which could result in cracking or part failure over time.

Bill of Materials (BOM):

• 115mm PTFE tube with a 4mm outer diameter (commonly used in 3D printing setups).

This spool holder provides a robust and reliable solution for anyone needing to use larger spools with BambuLab AMS or similar setups, ensuring smooth filament management and compatibility with additional mods like the Poop Chute Door. If you have feedback or requests for customization, please leave a comment!
