Description

Since I am an electrical engineering student, I made a three-phase electric motor. The model I made is a version of an induction (asynchronous) AC motor. The model is made by missing a part of the enclosure which allows you to see inside, which gives you an idea of the interior. It is therefore suitable for teaching, as it allows students to easily visualise.

There is also a synchronous AC motor. The difference between the two is that the asynchronous one has slip, which the synchronous one does not.

The model is mainly made up of a rotor and a stator with windings on it. In addition, the model includes a fan, a shaft in the middle, and a terminal box.

-The rotor is the part that rotates and the shaft to which it is attached drives the desired devices.
-The stator is the motor casing to which the windings are attached that produce the magnetic fields that drive the rotor.

-The fan is designed to dissipate the heat generated by the motor.

-The terminal box is the part where the motor windings are connected in different configurations (star, delta).

Boost Me (for free)

Do you like the model? The boosts are a great way to show support and they help a lot.

Assembly instructions:
-put the windings on the stator (big blue part,7 red ones ),
-insert the bearings into both sides of the stator (big blue parts),
-slide the rotor (big cylinder with lines), the fan and the spacer (small ring) onto the shaft,
-insert the shaft and the other parts into the casing and close it,
-secure everything with three screws,
-insert the therminal plate (u,v,w) at the back into the box on the housing.

To help, there are additional images between the model's pictures.
Configurations on the back: a star is made with one horizontal line and a delta is made with three vertical lines.
The model can be mounted on any base with M4 screws.
