Subaru WRX STi 2004 OEM Key immobilizer add-on cap

Being a huge Subaru lover and still having one ‘07 STi I finally faced this regret: the beautiful titanium 2004 OEM key (Part# 57497FE000) does not have immobilizer chip inside. It means, - you are stuck with the ugly black one. Alright! Haven’t we've got 3d printer?

The key itself is pretty simple: metal base and plastic cap. So the challenge is: remove the old cap and make a new one.

I've started to research what's already exist to solve the problem, - and finally found this one article. It's very good one with the beautiful solution inside and very well written descriptions and manuals!

With my huge dissapointment I've noticed that “I will not be releasing the design (.STL) file”. So….That's the authors choice to do it this way.

And I was also OK to pay 20$ for this cap not to mess around with it, but - “As of 10/29/2024 I am sold out”.

Are you kidding? This world turned against me.

So I've decided to rapidly design it myself with the little bit adaptations for my taste of beauty. 
So, don't be strict to me and one evening job, - here we go :) Feel free to give feedback and adapt it for your needs

HUGE DISCLAIMER: I've didn't tested 4D62 fitment! I've used it dimensions as a model and waiting for shipment for mine ones. There is 0.2mm spacing made for fitment, so should work well. You print the model at your own risc! If someone has this chips nearby, - kindly please test it and share the result and I will edit the model.

Step by step manual is easy: 
1) Buy 2004 OEM key (Part# 57497FE000) on ebay

2) Buy 4D62 on ebay

3) Remove old cap trying not to hit the metal

4) Print the new cap (I've used PLA-CF, works well), it will be a test one.

5) Test it!

6) If it's alright, - reduce the inner barrel diameter by 0.1mm to “fit forever”.

7) Print it one more time, now that's a finish one. Place chip inside and fit it. See pics for the placement.
