Building upon my previously released filament container, I've implemented several enhancements

  • Incorporated a desiccant compartment, concurrently serving as filament spool support
  • Integrated label slots accommodating 30mm x 30mm cards under 0.75mm thickness
  • Two label application methods are available: acrylic paint markers (approximately one dollar per marker) or MakerWorld's custom label creator

Utilizing the MakerWorld custom label creator (https://makerworld.com.cn/makerlab/makeMySign)

Baseplate and thickness settings are illustrated below, modifications are indicated in red, border width is set to zero

  • The desiccant compartment readily accepts silica gel desiccant; other desiccants remain untested, aperture width is less than 1mm

Furthermore, the desiccant compartment is designed for hygrometer integration, although in-situ results are somewhat suboptimal

The hygrometer accommodates the dimensions of a circular Topjoy hygrometer, with a 45mm diameter; commercially available embedded circular hygrometers are compatible provided dimensional congruity

Assembly Instructions:

  • During closure, maintain a horizontal orientation, align with one latch, and gently slide it along the edge until fully secured. Press firmly around the perimeter after initial latch engagement

2024-11-10 Update:

Employing transparent material and a polished finish for the lid enhances hygrometer visibility

Functionality remains largely satisfactory

Simultaneously, I experimented with TPU for a sealing gasket, however this proved excessively challenging and costly, thus its omission

A self-conducted airtightness test is included for reference (water was used, visibility may be limited)

2024.11.30 Update:

  • Per user request, an external hygrometer compatible lid has been added, facilitating direct external hygrometer readings without the need for transparent material

External hygrometer integration may compromise sealing; application of Blu-Tack sealant to the joints is recommended

2024-13-03 Update:

  • Added additional housing sizes for simultaneous storage of multiple filament spools
  • Reinforcement rings incorporated into the original design to mitigate deformation during closure
  • Central shaft compatibility for larger housings is pending; future updates will address this
