Introduction to the International Space Station (ISS)

In case you are not familiar with it, the ISS is so far the greatest and most awesome spacecraft of all times. Here are some reasons to support this:

1 - It's real. You can see it from earth, if you know where to look!

2 - It has been continuously inhabited since the year 2000, hosting more than 200 astronauts from over 20 countries.

3 - It is a symbol of international cooperation, with more than 15 countries collaborating on its construction and operation.

4 - It is used for scientific research, educational outreach and as a test platform for new technologies.

About this model

This model is designed specifically for 3D printing at this scale, with the following features:

1 - Prints in less than 60 minutes.

2 - Can be printed in A1 mini bed (180x180mm) at once.

3 - Does not require printing supports.

4 - Easy to assemble, with no need for extra parts or glue (you may still want to use a bit glue for better fixation).

printed the 150% multi color version in PLA. first tried in PETG but I didn't really like the final quality. my kid wanted black over white and I'm glad I decided for a multicolor (green, blue, orange) silk PLA for the solar panels. that just looks awesome. to be fair the clearings for some joints are a bit too loose, in the scaled version at least, so I used a few drops of glue. especially the big solar panels are very loose unfortunately. but good enough as decoration.

yes i had the same loose connections, sone super glue will do, i will not change the profile to make it better though.

Although 1:800 scale is very tiny it is a very nice model. As you can see it is not my only space model. Ranging from Apollo Saturn V plus Lut, LEM connected to the Command & Service Module and the Space Shuttle with fuel tank and booster pack. Thanks for this model. It turned out very well, indeed the pieces are fragile. If handled carefully, there will be no problems. The connections were easy to fit, and some didn't even need super glue! Thank you for sharing

Quality of the print itself is just fine. I had no issues printing it, and all parts came out good. The reason for the three stars is the size. Some of the parts were so small and flimsy that they straight up broke, either when i took them off the build plate or assembled it. The tolerances was also a bit off, some parts didn't want to fit at all while others wouldn't stay in place and fell off when i moved it. It's a quick print, yes, but I would prefer something a little bigger so that the parts had some more strength behind them.

a dab of superglue here and there mostly to avoid pieces moving while installing the rest. it’s great !

parts came out great, but its a little to fragile for my liking. if the scale was like 1.5x/2x bigger i think it would be alot better.
