Description

Gift box with automatic opening!

Boost Me (for free)

Thank you for encouraging me to continue creating new cool and free designs by boosting me

What a pleasure it is to give a gift!
But it's even better in a pretty box…. And even more surprising when it opens at the touch of a button! :)

Update:
I've just created a new version (V2)

  • Assembling the lid is much easier because there's a pin on each side
  • The spiral spring is a little thicker to create more tension
  • The closing hook no longer needs to be glued on
  • The ‘bow tie’ contains more supports to avoid problems of detachment (especially on A1 printers)

This new version has been tested on A1 and P1S printers.

If you have a problem, please send me a message before noting. I can certainly help you quickly

Printing and assembly instructions:

Use PLA+ for mechanical parts (gear, spiral spring, etc.)

You can activate the variable layer height for the bow tie to make the edges smoother. This avoids post-processing.

1- insert the gear with spiral spring

2 - insert the cross

3 - insert the cap onto the axle. Turn the gear at least a quarter turn counterclockwise. It should not be stretched to the maximum but almost because it will still have to be stretched when closing the box. Block the gear temporarily by inserting a rod into the hole.

4- insert the cover starting with the part that fits into the spiral gear.

5- On both sides, apply a little glue to the side of the box as shown in the picture and insert the pin

6 - for version 2 of this model :

insert the button from inside the box

insert the closing hook as shown in the image and make sure the square fits into the button

6- for version 1 of this model : Glue the button onto the closure pin and apply a little glue to the face as shown in the picture. Do not put glue over the entire length

7 - insert this locking system into the box

8 - Glue the ribbon parts to the 4 sides of the box and to the lid. Each part has a shape or text to indicate where to put it. Then glue the Node
