Description

If you don't use my print profile it will probably fail. Don't complain if this happens

Some models require specific settings to work. This is one of them.

Toothy Tooth Fairy Container

Keep those precious teeth safe and easy for the Tooth Fairy to find.

This model took more iterations to get right than I would like to admit. I really wanted a realistic looking tooth container and am happy to say that it's finally done.

Tips & Info:

  • Prints well in PLA although PETG gives a longer lasting result.
  • Use my print profile!:
    • Modified bridging settings to give the hinge the strength it needs
    • Mouse ear brims to keep the thin walls attached to the plate
    • Printable without supports but interior of the box will be a little rough (not enough to matter)
  • Go slow on the first closure so the hinge can get used to bending
  • Lid stays shut quite well and shouldn't open up accidentally

If you like this model, consider following.

Boosts are always appreciated too. They really do help make it affordable to make and test models to share.

Enjoy!

I don't really like the bamboo gold silk its too yellow. This stuff is from geeetech and it's about two thirds of the cost. in fact if you buy 10 rolls at a time, it's less than $10 per kilogram.

I printed twice. I had bad adhesion first time but I’m recovering from my first clog so I’m sure it was my machine. I really wanted this for a friends granddaughter so I reprinted. How many ways can you say adorable! Beautifully detailed. Thanks for sharing your creativity. Cheers

Printed in ABS. The hinge cracked but still suits its’ purpose.

Yes petg is best for its flexibility for sure. Glad it's still doing what you need it to 👍

Printed out nicely. According to your recommendation, I left settings as it is, I only resized it to 200% to be able to put 2 coins inside. Thank you. (Bambulab PLA Basic, white)

@user_655115003 I double checked and I already have A1 mini selected in the print profile. I see that it's not showing up though. I'm not sure why and I don't have a mini to figure out what might be different. The most important settings are: 1) Rotate bridge directions 180 degrees 2) Use mouse ear brims 3) Easier to print without supports 4) Slow down walls and overhangs 5) Arachne wall generation Basically the hinge bridge needs to go the other way and the container walls need brims to stay adhered to the print surface. Other than that, it's a thin model so slower is better.

lid needs a bit of adjusting till it closes properly. I don’t like how the inside is stringy, would be much better if it was flat
