Introducing my magnetic candle holder (not just for Christmas)

The idea struck me when the candle holders offered at Emmerson and Lidl were visually unappealing and far too small for hand-dipped candles. They more closely resembled shot glasses.

The intended color was gold or silver; however, I lacked both and opted for yellow, though red or green would also be suitable.

Mine, in contrast, is somewhat aesthetically designed, suitable for standard-sized hand-dipped or industrial candles with a maximum diameter of approximately 25mm.

Thinner candles starting at 20mm are also compatible but require securing to the base with liquid wax.

By the way, it's also suitable as a toothpick/toothbrush holder or similar for the bathroom ;-).

This holder stands alone but incorporates a simple 10x3mm magnet on the bottom for secure attachment to metallic surfaces (Christmas trays).

The magnet is simply pressed into a 10.1mm recess without adhesive.

Magnets are available, for example, here:

FPMYB 60 Stück Magnete Stark 10x3mm, Neodym Magnete Extra Stark Kleine Magnete Runde Magnet Starke Magnete für Magnettafel, Kühlschrank, Whiteboard, Pinnwand, Büro : Amazon.de: Bürobedarf & Schreibwaren

For later magnet removal, the holder features a hole allowing removal/ejection of the magnet from the inside using a chisel.

Print normally with standard PLA settings of any color, using a 0.2mm layer height, textured PEI plate, and a 0.1mm smoothed top surface for easier wax scraping. No glue stick, open bed/door.

An image from the ray tracer with pre-set PLA material (gold, 1.75mm) is also attached. It's certainly not entirely realistic, but it seems they haven't yet fully embraced AM ;-)

Have fun printing and celebrating
