Description
Upon acquiring a 3D printer, many receive a complimentary mystery box from Bambu Lab, often containing small boats and these very lights.
Having received several of these lights, and having printed one for use as a nightlight, I was left pondering their further application, thus sparking the idea of creating a pair of glasses.
This endeavor was purely whimsical; as a lifelong fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion, I conceived the notion of using them to cosplay as Gendo Ikari.

I later discovered that similar reflective glasses are frequently featured in Detective Conan.

The model employs PETG filament; I strongly recommend using PETG, avoiding PLA, as the glasses lack metallic fasteners, relying instead on the temples' protrusions to secure them to the frame. This necessitates a material with sufficient flexibility to prevent breakage during assembly.

This is a revised version; the initial iteration featured foldable temples, but lacked a stop mechanism, allowing them to fold both inwards and outwards, compromising stability during wear. This version renders the temples immovable after installation, enhancing stability at the cost of portability (though I doubt anyone would wear them outside...). The frame is tailored to my head size and may not fit all. The model itself is lightweight, approximately 12g, requires no supports, and prints easily. However, with the kit001 light attached, it becomes quite heavy and unsuitable for extended wear (not to mention, the lights obscure vision...).

The temples feature a 3mm recess to conceal the light's wiring. When photographing, routing the wire behind the ear and down the back allows for seamless concealment from frontal and lateral perspectives.

However, the tolerances of my two kit001 lights vary; one fits perfectly, while the other requires considerable force to insert.

I utilize a power bank for power, running the wire down the back and into my pocket, concealing it effectively.
When photographing with these glasses, proper exposure and angle are paramount! Appropriate exposure enhances the image's three-dimensionality and ambiance, while a well-chosen angle masks the nightlight's wiring.

Finally, wearing these glasses with the lights installed renders one completely blind! Their use is purely for photographic amusement~ I consider them a disposable novelty. Therefore, the frame is designed thinly to minimize material consumption during printing.
However, if you possess a life-sized bust, you might try fitting them for a luminous nightlight effect.
Enjoy!
