Description
As a new year dawns, and we consider festive decorations imbued with traditional symbolism, the quintessential Chinese motifs—door gods and window decorations—immediately spring to mind. Inspired by this, I've created a simple, magnetic “Peace and Fortune” charm, destined to be the centerpiece of any festive display. Leveraging the power of modern 3D printing technology, I aim to breathe new life into these harmonious and auspicious traditional elements. You can even use it as a refrigerator magnet.
This 3D-printed “Peace and Fortune” charm measures 18cm on each side. The character for “Fortune” (福) is encircled by eighteen auspicious patterns—18, phonetically similar to “to prosper” (要发) in Chinese, symbolizing abundance and wealth. Four smaller seal script characters (“Peace, Auspiciousness”) are positioned at the top, bottom, and sides. “Peace” signifies health and wellbeing, while “Auspiciousness” connotes impending good fortune and contentment. May this creation add a touch of festive cheer to your gatherings.
Required Accessories:
Nine 6mm diameter, 3mm thick circular magnets (although nine magnet slots are provided, only four in the corners are needed for secure adhesion. Add more as needed)
Color Guidance:
Traditionally, the “Peace and Fortune” charm features a red background, with yellow or black characters. These are the most common color schemes. See example images below:
