Description

Check out my new 4th of July Glasses

Please use my profile (designer), not sure if other profiles are automatically updated with all my latest changes!

Seeing my original model so appreciated: https://makerworld.com/en/models/82516#profileId-87957

I've decided to make a foldable version together with other changes:

  • Temples and main part connection were redesigned to be foldable and easy to fit together.
  • All parts can be printed on one plate without loosing the side logo. The letters are embedded and you can choose a color for each letter. Or print them in the same color, your choice.
  • small changes to print profile to make the temples better. Temples looks better now, printed face down on textured plates.
  • 30 minutes model printing time

UPDATE 11.12.2023 (please use my profile, not sure if other profiles are automatically updated):

  • I have modified the temples (arms) to open more. (to stop the glasses from bending too much in the middle
  • Also increased the thickness of the white squares, to have 3 layers. As someone suggested the white could be semitransparent in some cases. Also this increase the overall thickness of the glasses.
  • Added a small reinforcement to the top part of the frame, to be more strong and bend less.

    Attaching the temples:
  • They have a small groove on exterior side, so they can easily slide in only with a movement like in the picture bellow.
I've tested many times and worked for me, and I hope on other printers works the same.
If you feel you need too much force to snap them in, please try to sand very little from the connection pins on the glasses.

  • In case you want to open even more the arms (temples), please carefully sand this red part. (not too much :) )

This model of Cuban Chain, from designer TrendtB,
could be a great addition to these glasses. https://makerworld.com/en/models/89590#profileId-95895
