Description

NBN Australia Arris CM8200 wall mount. I could not find anything suitable for my needs, so here this one is.

Designed for the CM8200 which is the common HFC modem on the Australian National Broadband Network (NBN). May fit other related models.

Since I'm a renter, which makes me a 3rd class citizen and asking permission to drill holes in the walls (and then having to fill them and paint match when I leave) is a massive pain, 3M Command™ Strips are an absolute godsend. So this was designed to wall mount with 2x LARGE strips. I prefer the Large Picture Strips with the hook and hook interface for easiest removal.

Previously, I'd just attached the strips directly to the modem but this blocks vents making the unit run hotter (bad) and cooks the 3M glue to death in a year or two. This mount was designed with a 10mm air gap and zero blocking of vents to allow for effective passive convection cooling of the modem.

Due to the heat, recommended to print in something more tolerant than PLA. I've used PETG for this initial test. ABS/ASA will last forever but is probably huge overkill.

Requires 2x M4 button head bolts to engage the keyholes on the back of the modem. Holes are modeled with M4 theading. I did not trust printed plastic hooks to survive long term.
