A Festive Little Red Lantern (with optional light)

With the Lunar New Year approaching, I've designed a festive little red lantern, perfect as an ornament or a delightful handheld trinket. It looks beautiful with or without the included light. Aside from the internal light, all components are 3D printed, requiring no metal hardware. Utilizing red and gold filaments, one spool per color, it features seamless color transitions, eliminating the need for an AMS; printable on an A1 mini.

The tree-like support structure at the lantern's apex is larger than the lantern opening. For easier removal, separate the support from the top before snipping the branches.

2024.12.28: Added a base with hanging loop (Configuration 2), enabling vertical stacking and suspension of multiple lanterns.

Assembly Guide

Installing the Top Cover

1. Thread the small hook through the hole in the top cover and firmly press the cylindrical clasp into place.

2. Screw the top cover onto the lantern.

Installing the Base

1. Insert the light fixture into the light; one side has two recesses, the other one; align these with the protrusions on the light's plastic component. Ensure the two raised surfaces on the fixture face downwards; avoid inverting it.

Skip this step if you choose not to install the light.

2. Secure the fixture into the base's clasp; the light switch aligns perfectly with the hole in the base.

3. Screw the base onto the lantern.

Attach the rod to the lantern using the long hook, and your lantern assembly is complete.
