Description
This is a compact enclosure designed to fit an ESP32-wroom-32d and a 22mm diameter button.
It is designed with a thick shell so it can be printed in transparent filament to nicely diffuse an internal RGB LED.
Parts used:
- 1 x ESP32-wroom-32d - can often be found for under $5 each on Amazon
- 1 x 22mm diameter push button switch - AliExpress is great for these. It must be relatively low profile to fit properly
- 2 x self-tapping m2 screws - Typical hex-headed machine screws would probably work fine, but I find the larger thread on these allows them to hold fast even after a few reassemblies.
Assembly is extremely simple as can be seen in the photos. I cut a single RGB LED off a strip and soldered the connections, then used dupont connectors for the button in the lid. The lid is self-centering and holds the microcontroller snugly in place without needing additional fasteners or any adhesives.
