Portable Filament Spool Holder for SKADIS
Print Profile(2)

Description
Portable, bearing-loaded filament spool holder/roller for SKÅDIS
Uses two aesthetically rock solid arms to hold your filament spools while feeding the printers smoothly! Inspired by this good, functional model, but this one's for the pegboard!
What you will need
- 2 pcs of 608 Z(Z) ball bearings
- 1 pc of M8x15 hex bolt
- 1 pc of M8 hex nut
Important notes
There are two custom supports that are very easily removable.
Cost around 10-15 gr, they are purposefully made stronger for easy removal due to the clearances that are relatively small to produce the smoothest finish possible.
You could replace them with support filament, but I wouldn't recommend it, because most likely you would end up spending much more filament and time due to filament changing times throughout the print.

For the spool bar's, you simply use the M8 bolt to punch it out from the top. This slot is for one of the spacers, to prevent the spool's body and the arms from touching and creating frictions while it rolls.

Disclaimer
- I've printed these with PLA+ to hold 1 KG filament spools and haven't tested them with any larger ones.
- Two arms work sustainably well for this weight, but you could actually also use just one for less filament, at the expense of the spool slightly leaning to the armless side. I would only do this for 500gr filament spools though.
- Not recommended for TPU spools because they are too flexible and springy (spins too freely). When pulled by the extruder, TPU stretches slightly, and once tension is released, it will snap back, which can cause the spool to spin backward. Therefore, they are better suited for non-bearing spool holders.
Hope that helps. Enjoy! :)
