Description

Simple knob for a 6mm D-shaft rotary encoder. The knob doesn't have an index mark. I often see Projects with rotary encoders, that use knobs with an index mark on them. But rotary encoders can turn endless and an index mark can be very confusing or annoying.

The knob will fit on typical encoders that come delivered on a small pcb with jumper wire cables. If you are not sure, use some caliper an measure the shaft at the thickest diameter. It must be 6mm ( or 0,23622 inch LOL) or this knob won't fit.

Watch out. This knob fits tight. It won't loosen easily, be aware! over time the fit will become a little looser. If you need to attach and remove the knob regularly, i suggest to use some grease or oil on it, like you guys use to maintain your 3d printers. vaseline, lithium grease or precision mechanic oil. PLA is fairly resistant to petrochemicals, fats and solvents. For the final assembly, a new knob will sit nice and tight…

This design has been tested with sunlu filament and a 0.2 nozzle. Your experience may vary.
