Since my wife's hobby is Diamond Painting and she loves it above all else, I had already printed Diamond Painting trays with magnetic inserts for her. Unfortunately, there was no suitable garage with magnetic inserts available anywhere, so a man sits down and designs several garages himself to make his wife happy :)

This is my design for a “30-slot Diamond Painting Garage with Magnetic Insert”

Suitable dimensions for trays that fit into the garage:

  • Width 70 mm
  • Height 17 mm

You can also find my Diamond Painting trays on my page or directly here via the link:

Version 1

Version 2

The garage has cutouts for the following magnets:

  • Max 10mm in diameter (the cutouts are square with dimensions 10.3 x 10.3 mm)
  • Max 2mm thickness (also with appropriate tolerance)
  • Magnets should be Neodymium and have at least an “N42” classification for sufficient hold

For example, I currently use these: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B06X977K8L

A pause should be inserted in the slicer at layer number 19 to embed the magnets. In the slicer, it looks like the holes are already closed, but the pause is made at the beginning of layer number 19, and the holes are only closed at the end of layer number 19

Nothing more to say :) I wish you a lot of fun with my model :)
