Description
The Green fluorescence protein (GFP) needs no introduction. This is a cartoon representation of the GFP with the chromatophore depicted as balls. I made this model for teaching protein folding, as this is great for showing beta-barrel. If an IDEX or multi-material printer is available, the chromatophore can be printed in fluorescent or phosphorescent PLA for an extra effect.
I have printed this at 0.2 resolution with wall 4 lines. I have oriented the model so that the barrel entry would face the building plate. This makes support removal a bit easier. The coils areas are a bit elastic, but nothing broke during the removal of the support. The chromatophore was printed with fluorescent PLA which makes the model glow under UV light.
