Description

Replacement Spacer Ring for AT2020 and AT2020USB+

I had been using a third-party shock mount on my AT2020USB+ microphone for so long that I barely remembered how the original mount worked. Recently, I decided to remove the shock mount and switch back to the included mount, only to notice that the microphone was spinning freely. I suspected there was a ring that would prevent it from rotating, and looking at online photos confirmed my suspicion.

That’s when I recalled losing that ring ages ago—I vaguely remember having it and then misplacing it. I tried searching for the original, since I wouldn’t have thrown it away, but I came up empty-handed.

At first, I resigned myself to sticking with the shock mount. Then it hit me: I’ve got a 3D printer now! Searching online for a model turned up nothing, so I designed my own replacement spacer.

Now, I’m uploading it in hopes that it will help someone else in the same predicament.

It’s a very simple, and quick model.

I’m not sure how many people still buy AT2020s these days, but hopefully it will come in handy for someone else!
