Summary

This is a life-size detonator just like you see in movies and games that moves just like the real thing, it even has a satisfying click sound when you press the button.  This model is based on the M57 Electrical Firing Device that is used by militaries all around the world to set off Claymore Mines, C4, and other explosives.

The model is super easy to put together, no glue is required, assembly takes less than a minute.  Just snap on the handle, insert the clicker button, insert the antenna, and pop on the silver safety.

Pairs well with these models:

Tips

  • Let the clicker cool for best results.  Best strategy is to let the plate cool down, then remove.  However, if you remove from the plate right away, at least give the part a few minutes to cool before clicking it.  Otherwise the plastic is still soft for a few minutes and may be permanently altered when clicked.
  • Avoid Matte and Silk PLA for the (black) clicker box if you can.  Matte is totally fine for the dark green, but for the (black) clicker itself, PLA Basic and PLA Metal are ideal.

Bambu Filaments used

  • Matte Dark Green
  • Metal Iron GrayBlack
  • Silk Silver

Assembly Instructions

  1. Insert Antenna into the slot at the top (see image below)
  2. Insert the clicker box (see image below)
  3. Attach the silver clip to the holes, you may need to stretch it slightly (see image below)
  4. Snap on the handle (see image below)

Boost Me (for free)

If you enjoy my work and would like to help support my ability to share more (and even better) models in the future, please consider boosting or buying me a coffee at the link below.   Your support is what helps me have enough filament and supplies to do all the print testing required for my models to be high quality and easy to assemble.  It takes a mountain of test prints for each model. Thanks :-)

Here's a link to my Buy Me a Coffee page, thanks for the support!
