My son received a second VTech Marble Rush set as a Christmas gift, and I found it interesting to be able to complete and improve it with 3D printed models
I found a set of .stl models online but:
- the models were difficult to fit into the original parts, which damaged them
- the models were less flush than the originals once fitted
- the two 2x-upturn_road models had attachments that were too wide, making fitting impossible, and simply reducing the part made it too short
- the plates were hollow and therefore required a lot of supports, so I closed them with a low infill: faster to print and less filament waste in supports! (yes, the original brand parts are hollow, but only to be able to stack them for storage. Here, the 3D model was not stackable anyway...)
- the plates had a small, unnecessary notch creating a weakness, so I removed it
- the shape of some parts requires a lot of supports, so I decided to work on optimizing them to offer print profiles on MakerWorld to make things easier for Bambu Lab owners in the same situation as me
- the strength of some PLA 3D printed parts was very poor, and yet I believe it's the most suitable material here! So I worked on the orientation of the parts on the build plate as well as the infill
- many elements were missing, I added some either by heavily modifying existing models or by creating entirely new ones. I hope to add even more!
I therefore offer you various parts to create a Marble Run compatible with VTech Marble Rush sets
There are additional parts that are not in my original sets (I don't know if they exist from the brand) and which I find very practical: the part to join two blocks (Road_blocks_join), the one to close a block end (Stop_block), the element to build a tower without using functional blocks (Building_block_tower) and the 1x1 and 3x1 plates
I have provided photos of what I was able to print directly with the profiles I offer, but obviously the print quality (appearance, strength, ease of support removal) will greatly depend on the quality of your filament calibration! And the result will be much better if you use specific filament for the support interface (which I did not do as this type of part has more of a mechanical than aesthetic role for me...)
I intentionally printed my parts in gray to clearly differentiate them from the original colored parts
List of parts available in my library (or coming soon...):

There might be new files not shown above: check out my dedicated collection!

If you find better settings, please share them! I will genuinely be interested in testing your print profiles!
