Description

Wire Spool Rack for Wires – Holds 8 Spools

This rack is designed to help you organize and separate color-mixed wire spools. It holds up to 8 spools, with each spool capable of holding approximately 20 to 30 meters of wire (when using AWG30).

Materials Needed:

  • 2mm rod (preferably metal) – 2 pieces, each 108mm in length
  • Sponge or similar soft material
  • Solid filament – I used PLA, but other rigid filaments should also work

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Spools:
    • Print all the parts, including the spools.
    • Wind your wires onto the printed spools.

  2. Add Sponge Padding:
    • Cut two small strips of sponge or similar material, measuring 2cm * 2cm * 11cm.
    • Glue these strips to the floor or the bar directly behind the spools. This adds friction and prevents wire unwinding when not in use.

  3. Install the Spools:
    1. Start with the lower row of spools. Place the spools approximately where they will sit.
    2. Insert the 2mm metal rod through one side of the rack, carefully mounting each spool onto the rod one at a time. Slide the rod all the way through until it passes through the opposite wall of the rack.
    3. Ensure the spools are held in place by the sponge strips so that they don’t move on their own.
    4. Glue the rod to the rack at both ends to prevent it from sliding out.
    5. Repeat for the upper row.
