Development History and Significance:
The Airbus EC145, initially developed by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) and Kawasaki as the BK117, was further advanced into the EC145 with enhanced aerodynamics, avionics, and cabin space. Introduced in 2002, it is widely used for SAR, emergency medical services (EMS), corporate transport, and military missions. The EC145 is particularly notable for its spacious cabin and rear clamshell doors, allowing for efficient loading and unloading.
